National Mentoring Month is just one month away.  Maximize this annual opportunity to increase visibility, recruit mentors, and find more supporters for your program by customizing and effectively use existing messaging and materials with social media.  This month, we’re joined by two groups who will share their ideas for crafting and localizing 2013 National Mentoring Month concepts. First, we’ll hear about how to balance objective and organizational facts with stories that bring to life the work we’re doing and perfecting your pitch to your media market. Then, we’ll hear about ways to use social media platforms – like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn – to grow your supporters and help turn them into volunteer mentors and donors.

We also want to hear from YOU about your successes, your challenges, and your plans for making the most of 2013’s National Mentoring Month.

This will not be a Social Media 101 webinar. If you’re interested in the “Top 12 for 2012” list of easy, practical tips that will help mentoring programs optimize their social media efforts, we suggest reviewing last year’s National Mentoring Month + Social Media = Opportunity webinar from Friends for Youth, the Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota, and Mass Mentoring. View the slides here or here.

Panelists include: Kristan Allan, Director of Marketing and Communications for The Mentoring Partnership of Southwestern Pennsylvania and Julie Dixon, Deputy Director of the Center for Social Impact Communication at Georgetown University.
